To an amiable and attentive audience on Wednesday evening, January 13, MJ Davison shared with eloquence her process of evolving as an artist through deep, contemplative study of color. MJ described how she reverently entered into the world of color, step by step, following the laws initially revealed by Rudolf Steiner and then developed further by Liane Collot d’Herbois. She graciously acknowledged all her teachers on this decades-long path, each of whom contributed to her further development as an artist.
MJ’s work ranges from initial color studies using the wet-on-wet technique, light and dark studies in charcoal and then interpreted in color, to small veil paintings. Her investigations into color sometimes expand into colossal veil paintings that appear as invitations to a vibrant, cosmic world. We at The Art Hall give a big thank you to MJ for preparing and delivering such a thoughtful and beautiful presentation of her work!
If you couldn’t make it to the opening (and yes, this time we moved the opening to Wednesday—we’re sorry to those who showed up on Thursday evening expecting to hear MJ’s lecture) you can still infuse your heart and soul with these magnificent works through Thursday, February 11. As usual, 50% of all sales will be donated to The Art Hall as we build reserves for professional gallery lighting!
